Private Tour of Kyoto
On this private tour of Kyoto, you will explore Japan’s former capital with a professional guide. Kyoto was the country’s capital for over 1,000 years and is the only major city in Japan that was not bombed during World War II.
Itinerary
At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel and begin exploring Kyoto’s most important landmarks. And not only that—we will do it like true locals, combining walking tours with public transportation.
Our first stop will be Nijō Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Did you know that this palace was built by Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu for his visits to the city? You’ll love its impressive architecture and historical significance!
Next, we’ll take you to Kinkaku-ji Temple, also known as the Golden Pavilion due to its shimmering gold exterior. This breathtaking temple was built by Shogun Ashikaga as a retreat. To fully appreciate its beauty, we will take a stroll through the surrounding gardens—a peaceful green space that will leave you feeling completely at ease.
The tour will continue at the Silver Pavilion (Ginkaku-ji), one of the most famous structures from the Muromachi period, set in a truly spectacular location. Here, you will have free time to enjoy lunch at your own pace.
We will conclude our visit by walking through the Higashiyama area and, of course, exploring Gion, Kyoto’s historic geisha district.
