Private Tour to Hiroshima and Miyajima from Osaka
On this private tour from Osaka, we will explore the city that suffered the first nuclear bomb in history, Hiroshima, and discover its tributes to the victims. Then, we will admire the impressive shrines and red torii gates of Miyajima, the island of the gods.
Itinerary
At the scheduled time, we will meet at the Hiroshima train station and take a tram to the city center. We will learn more about the tragic historical episode surrounding this Japanese city as we walk through the Peace Park, a place filled with tributes to the victims of the atomic bomb.
On August 6, 1945, the world stood still when the first nuclear bomb struck Hiroshima. During our visit, we will see the only building that remained standing after the explosion: the Atomic Bomb Dome. Its current state will give you a small idea of the catastrophe’s scale.
In the Peace Park, we will also find the Children’s Monument. Do you know who Sadako, the girl in the statue, was? As we bid farewell to the park, we will reveal her story and explain why she is holding an origami crane.
Back at Hiroshima Station, we will take a train to our next destination: Miyajima. Then, we will board a ferry to the “island of the gods.” Once there, you can admire the famous red torii gate standing in the sea, as well as the numerous Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples in the area. A true reflection of Japanese tradition!
After lunch, we will visit the Itsukushima Shrine, the Daigan-ji Buddhist complex, and then head to Daisho-in, the most impressive temple on Miyajima.
After approximately eight hours of touring, we will return to Hiroshima Station, where you can take the train back to Osaka.
