Private Tour of Tokyo

On this private tour, we will visit the most important temples, the most traditional neighborhood, and the most modern area of Tokyo. A perfect introduction to the world’s largest megacity!

Itinerary

At the scheduled time, we will meet at a central point in the Shibuya area and begin this private tour of Japan’s capital, which will take place on foot and using public transportation.

First, we will take the Yamanote Line. In Harajuku, we will visit the Meiji Shinto Shrine, built to honor the emperor who passed away in 1912. The temple was devastated in 1945 by American forces and was rebuilt in 1946. The vast park where it is located is a place of serenity and peace.

Using public transportation, we will fast-forward several centuries and arrive in Shinjuku, the most modern area of the city. Along the way, you will experience the daily rhythm of life in the Japanese capital.

Once in Shinjuku, we will enter the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building to go up to the 45th floor and enjoy incredible views from 240 meters high. You will be able to see Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree, the Meiji Shrine forest, and, if the weather is clear, even Mount Fuji.

We will also explore the Omoide Yokocho alley, which will take us back to the 1950s, and visit Kabukichō, Tokyo’s red-light district, famous for its vibrant nightlife.

The guided tour ends four hours later at Harajuku Station.

Full-Day Tour

If you would like the guided tour to last the entire day, we will stop for lunch at a traditional restaurant. In addition to everything included in the 4-hour tour, we will also visit Akihabara, the city’s geek and tech district, and Asakusa, a neighborhood that still preserves the atmosphere of old Tokyo.

Please note that the 1:00 PM start time is not available for the 8-hour tour. Additionally, hotel pick-up is not available in the areas of Odaiba, Ariake, Chiba, and the surroundings of Disney. If you are staying in one of these areas, we will contact you after booking to provide a meeting point.
